On June 1, 2023, Rotary Club Moscow International held a RestartU charity gala at the residence of H.E. Rodrigo Baena Soares, Ambassador of Brazil to the Russian Federation. The event was hosted under the gracious personal patronage of Mrs. Luciana Baena Soares, who embraced the RestartU cause and helped make the evening a heartfelt success.
Warmth, Elegance, and Purpose
Mrs. Luciana Baena Soares welcomed RestartU as part of her personal mission to support children with disabilities. Together with the Ambassador, she created an atmosphere that combined diplomatic hospitality, warmth, and purpose, inspiring guests to contribute generously.

Special thanks to private donors including Boris Tarasov, Vladimir Sedov, Nikolai Belokopytov, Philippe Cohen, Dave Munger, and Andrey Valkov, who covered all event costs, allowing 100% of the collected funds to support the children directly.
We are also grateful to former RCMI President Alina Lavrentieva (2018–2020) for attracting major sponsors and to NIKA Jewelry Watch Factory for providing exclusive prizes. Support also came from ASKONA, Swissotel, Dr. Hauschka, THEATRE des PARFUMS, Radical Chic, Au nom de la rose, and Jaguari.
The Result
Thanks to the generosity of our guests, the RestartU 2023 gala raised 1.3 million RUB — the highest result in the past five years. The funds enabled the purchase of three individually designed active-type wheelchairs for:
- Lera Ts. (2 years old)
- Matvey A. (5.5 years old)
- Aslan N. (6 years old)
These children can now move autonomously and begin a new chapter in their lives.
