Global collaboration, led by RCMI and supported by Italian Rotary Clubs, helped deliver medical equipment to children in need.

On June 25, 2016, Rotary Club Moscow International held a RestartU charity evening at the residence of H.E. Dr. Emil Brix, Ambassador of Austria to the Russian Federation, under the patronage of Mrs. Elisabeth Brix. This event laid the groundwork for one of the most successful international partnerships in the history of the RestartU project.

A Historic Result for RestartU

Thanks to the generous contributions from gala attendees, personal donors, and Rotary Clubs in Italy (District 2072) and Russia (District 2220), RCMI was able to apply for and secure a Rotary Foundation Global Grant. The total value of funds raised and matched amounted to $53,000 USD.

Wider Reach Through International Unity

This result was made possible through the initiative of Leonardo de Angelis, past President of RCMI, who presented the RestartU project at the Multi Club Workshop in St. Petersburg. His efforts helped attract international interest and financial support from Rotary Clubs in Bologna and Cortona.

Impact on Children

With the funds collected and the grant secured, 15 children aged 12–14 from different regions of Russia received 17 units of tailor-made medical equipment, including:

  • Panther wheelchairs
  • Walkers
  • Lifters and postural supports
